Hi everyone. Meet @alittlepickmeup. Caylee likes to ride her motorcycle and take pictures and travel the world l, sometimes she does all of them at once. Follow along this week as we get to know her better! She is a legend.
UPDATE: Not long after this shoot, Caylee was diagnosed with terminal cancer. She was a shining light, and I was so very privileged to have spent the time I did with her. Caylee, we will be seeing you in the next life...
Where are some unusual places you’ve been?
Oh god, I don't even know where to begin with this one. There have been so many, although at the time perhaps not immediately unusual, now I look back I guess they were.
A more recent one was last year when I documented for Run The Bases Charity in the Gambia - 3 of us were invited to a local naming ceremony. Hundreds of Gambians came to celebrate the newest birth, family friends, cousins. We were the only 3 westerners. It was my first time ever at something like this and we really got involved, eating out of shared bowls with our hands, dancing with all the women to the band, around their home in the compound. Truly a one-off experience that I may never get to experience again. Being welcomed by the community was exciting.
When did something start out badly for you but in the end, it was great?
Humm, may have to get back to you on this one...
How do you judge a person?
My mum has always taught me not to judge people until I really know them. Even with a bad first encounter, just because you just never know if someone is having a bad day or not! I once had someone on the tube tell me to "cheer up." I had just broken up with my boyfriend at the time, it really wasn't helpful and safe to say I told him to cheer the fuck up! That day always reminds me to be kind to people when they look sad. The song by "Slaves, Cheer up London" stuck in my head for the rest of the day! Ha.
Tell me one Caylee fun fact...
I'm a complete scatterbrain, it used to bother me but now I think it just makes life interesting.
